While some links to cancer have been made with saccharin, if you must use an artificial sweetener, it is best to use saccharin.

On 25 August 2005, we received this note from R.A.D. concerning her use of aspartame.
|
| "I just had a bad experience with aspartame. I was told by my doctor a few months ago that I was a borderline diabetic. I was told to watch my sugar intake and exercise. So, I began using Splenda, but then decided to use the cheaper sugar substitutes containing aspartame.
I purchased diet soft drinks and sugar-free cookies. I began having severe cramps and didn't feel well for days. I stopped using anything with aspartame and, by the next day, I was fine.
I bought some sweetener packets with saccharin. I don't use very many. I also use Splenda. I sure hope someone makes some cookies and candy and soft drinks with something besides aspartame."
Thank you R.A.D. for sharing your story with us.
