Instead of sitting down in front of the television with a giant bag of Lay's potato chips (delicious though they might be), try making big bowl of air-popped popcorn, a single-serving microwave bag of popcorn, or pouring out a couple of handfuls of pretzels.
Watch portion sizes. Learn to know portion sizes by measuring or counting out your snacks until you become familiar with a real portion size. Hint - it is not the whole bag (except for those cute little 100-calorie packs everyone has out now).
