Weight loss surgery success over the long-term is still contingent upon a healthy diet and exercise program.
Be sure to schedule meetings with a dietician or nutritionist to develop a healthy eating program to lose the weight and keep it off.

| Duodenal Switch - Success Story |
On 2 March 2004, we received this note from T.W. of Santee, CA, concerning her duodenal switch surgery:
"I had the DS surgery in November 2001. I have gone from 318 pounds to 182 pounds.
I had crippling arthritis. Now I walk 2.5 to 3 miles every day.
I had edema so bad that I couldn't wear my shoes. Now I wear a size smaller shoes than I did before the surgery.
I had asthma that kept me and my husband awake at night with my snoring and wheezing.
Those symptoms disappeared a few months after surgery. I am a new person with a new life thanks to the best weight loss surgery out there and the best surgeon in the country--Dr. Ara Keshishian. I fit in with the rest of society now.
The results have been so wonderful that it almost seems like this should be illegal!"
Thank you T.W. for sharing your inspirational story with us.
