Pickle relish comes in many different varieties so be sure to try them all!
If you prefer, use sweet pickle relilsh instead of standard dill pickle relish.  There are also about 100 other relishes to give a try - so be adventerous and try them all (just not all at once!).

Fried Trout with Tartar Sauce
Ingredients
(6 servings - 15 g protein - 7 g carbohydrate per serving)

1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup instant pancake mix
1 tsp grated lemon rind
3/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
6 - 6oz each trout filets
1 cup low fat mayonnaise
1/8 cup pickle relish
1/4 tsp mild prepared horseradish
  • In large skillet, heat oil until bubbling slightly.
  • In casserole dish, combine pancake mix, lemon rind, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Place filets into pancake mix and turn to coat evenly.
  • Fry coated filets in oil 3-4 minutes per side.
  • When fish flakes easily with a fork, remove to serving platter.
  • In small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, relish, and horseradish.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Serve with fish.
  • Add lemon wedges for garnish, if desired.
