Most recipes convert easily to low carb/high protein style if you start with good protein -- beef, pork, poultry, or seafood.
Substitute lower carb ingredients for carb-rich components. For example: chili doesn't have to contain beans at all. Use fresh chilis, fresh onions, and different spices each time to liven up this traditional favorite.
Trying different meats in recipes also gives old favorites a new twist. When substituting lighter or heavier meats in a recipe, simply adjust cooking time as appropriate (less for poultry, more for red meats).
