Juice fasts should only be done for brief periods. Be sure to take multivitamin supplements during the fast to pick up the nutrients you aren't getting from food.
If you have any health conditions at all, you should consult with your physician before beginning any type of fast or diet.

| One Visitor's Juice Diet Story |
| On 4 April 2004, we received this note from H.B. of Los Angeles, CA, concerning their use of juice dieting (fasting).
"Hi. I just read about juice fasts on your website. I tried one of those for the first time about six months ago. After the first day, I felt great when I would normally feel bloated and fat. I felt light and clear-headed and generally happier, and that was only after one day! I continued the fast for about a week and lost nearly half a stone, but by then I was starting to miss solid food and soon I was back to my old way of eating. I was very depressed.
A few weeks later, I decided to try it again, but once the fast had ended, I would try to eat foods which would give me the same light empty feeling that I got from the juices. I decided that whenever I was hungry, I would eat rice and chopped veggies with a little chili sauce for flavour. The result was great! I was able to eat and get energy while retaining the light empty feeling and still losing weight. I lost 2 stone!
I've learned from this that the only way of succeeding is to find a diet that you can easily stick to. Sure sometimes rice gets a little boring, but you know the saying... "nothing tastes as good as thin feels!"... it's true! I feel great!" |
