Collard greens? You bet. They're loaded with vitamins, low in calories, and have a strong hearty flavor.
If you've never tried them... give it a go. Add them to soup. Toss into salads. Or steam them as you would kale and serve with low-fat butter or seasonings.
Dieting is a great time to try new things, especially fruits and vegetables. If you aren't sure whether you'll like it, buy a little and give it a try. If you're unsure how to prepare a new fruit or vegetable, get online and look it up!
Make your diet fun and interesting and you'll stick with it!

| A Low Calorie Diet Success Story |
On 7 March 2005, we received the following story from R.T.F. of Huntington, WV:
"I used the Slim Fast diet plan. That is: two Slim Fast shakes replace two meals (I chose breakfast and lunch, though I suppose replacing breakfast and dinner would be more effective.) If I snacked, it was fruit, but never much. Sometimes I would replace a Slim Fast for lunch with a can of green beans, stewed tomatoes, or collard greens (which I love). For dinner, I ate what I wanted and skipped dessert. I went from 225 pounds to 150 pounds. I must tell you that 75 pounds makes a world of difference for a 20-year old!
I know it's sort of preplanned corporate dieting, but it worked, and I wanted to let someone know."
Thank you R.T.F. for sharing your story with our visitors.
