Try using freshly chopped herbs instead of the usual dried herbs for a serious taste difference.
You can also replace half of the tomato juice with tomato-clam, V-8, or any other blended tomato juice.

| Fresh Tomato Soup |
Ingredients

tomato juice |
| 1/2 |
bay leaf |
| 2 whole |
cloves |
| 1/4 tsp |
dill seed |
| 1/4 tsp |
basil |
| 1/4 tsp |
marjoram |
| 1/4 tsp |
oregano |
| 1/2 tsp |
sugar |
| 1/2 tsp |
black pepper |

- The night before cooking, combine the herbs and tomato juice.
- Seal container tightly.
- Place in refrigerator overnight.
- Empty contents into sauce pan.
- Heat to boiling.
- Remove from heat and strain.
- Pour into serving bowls.
- Garnish with parsley, if desired.
