Substitute pork for beef in this recipe for an instant change.
To liven up the appearance and taste of this dish, try mixing red, yellow, and green bell peppers in place of the plain green peppers.
You can substitute 1 tsp ground ginger for the gingerroot in this recipe.
If you're watching sodium intake, use low-sodium soy sauce in place of the regular soy sauce.

| Garlic Beef Stir Fry |
Ingredients

beef sirloin tip (trimmed, cut into strips) |
| 3/4 cup |
fat-free chicken broth |
| 6 cloves |
garlic (finely chopped) |
| 1 tbsp |
gingerroot (finely chopped) |
| 1 tbsp |
soy sauce |
| 2 tsp |
brown sugar |
| 1/8 tsp |
cinnamon |
| 1/8 tsp |
ground cloves |
| 1/8 tsp |
ground anise |
| 1/8 tsp |
ground peppercorns |
| 1 tbsp |
cornstarch |
| 1 tbsp |
cold water |
| 1 |
green bell pepper (cut into strips) |
| 1 |
onion (coarsely chopped) |

- In mixing bowl, blend broth, garlic, gingerroot, soy sauce, brown, sugar, and spices.
- In small bowl, blend cold water and cornstarch.
- Add cornstarch mixture to spice mixture.
- Stir beef into blended mixture until evenly coated.
- Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Using slotted spoon, remove beef from mixture, and keep mixture for later use.
- Prepare large skillet or wok by spraying with non-stick cooking spray.
- Heat over medium-high heat until spray begins to bubble.
- Add beef.
- Stir fry for 2 minutes.
- Add peppers and onions.
- Add marinade saved from earlier.
- Reduce heat to medium
- Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot.
