We've mentioned it before on this site many times, but it bears repeating.
All diet pills--ALL-- require that you engage in a diet and exercise program in order to actually lose weight.
NONE of the diet pills on the market can claim to cause weight loss without a change in diet.

Purpose: This medication is used to control appetite and reduce weight in obese people. However, weight loss is only achieved by incorporating a plan of diet and exercise in conjuction with this medication.
Also known as: Adipex-P, Fastin, Ionamin, Obenix, Obephen, Oby-Cap, Oby-Trim, Phentercot, Phentride, Pro-Fast HS, Pro-Fast SA, Pro-Fast SR, and Teramine.
Side Effects: Phentermine is known to cause the following side effects:
- dry mouth
- sleeplessness (insomnia)
- irritability
- nausea
- constipation
- blurred vision
- tremor
- headache
- impotence or sex drive changes
- restlessness
- dizziness (increases with alcohol use)
- more serious side effects that should be reported to your doctor:
- allergic reaction
- irregular heartbeat
- very high blood pressure
- severe headache
- hallucinations
- abnormal behaviour
- confusion
Precautions: This medication is not recommended for people with certain pre-existing conditions. Before beginning treatment with this medication be sure to tell your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:
- pregnancy
- high blood pressure (hypertension)
- heart disease
- arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)
- over-active thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
- glaucoma
- diabetes
- emotional problems
- anxiety disorder
- seizure disorder
Drug interactions: Phentermine is known to interact negatively with many over-the-counter and prescribed medications. If you are taking any of the following medications, be sure to tell your doctor:
- high blood pressure medication
- MAO Inihibitors
- weight loss medication
- appetite suppressants
- decongestants
- cough suppressants
- antidepressants
Dependency: Phentermine is habit-forming. However, you should always speak with your doctor before discontinuing any medication. Physical and psychological problems may occur if you attempt to withdraw from this medication abruptly after several weeks of continuous use.
Warning: Phentermine may be secreted in breast milk and may cause problems or side effects in your infant. Do not use this medication if you are breastfeeding.
