While some links to cancer have been made with saccharin, if you must use an artificial sweetener, it is best to use saccharin.

On 12 February 2006, we received this note from B.M. concerning his use of saccharin.
|
| "My entire family including my grandfather who died when he was 95 uses saccharin daily. I am 45 and have used it my entire life. My brothers, sisters, and parents have also used it all their lives. My father is 68 and ridiculously healthy. My mom, who used a little saccharin, died 5 years ago at the age of 61 after bypass surgery. My aunts, uncles, and cousins all use saccharin and not one person on that side of the family has ever had cancer except my grandmother who had uterine cancer.
Sooooooooooo, from my perspective, it appears that in my family saccharin is safe. I use it because I drink iced tea A LOT. It just tastes better. People are visiting and we serve iced tea, and they say it is the best tea they ever drank. What did you do?
It is alright by me."
Thank you B.M. for sharing your story with our visitors.
