On 30 October 2003, we received this note from S.M. of Presque Isle, Maine, concerning her use of sucralose.

"I can't believe that I have been poisoning myself with Splenda. It took me a while to figure it out. I had been using Splenda on and off once in a while in my coffee. It took me a little to adjust to the flavor. I like my coffee sweet.
After about 2-1/2 weeks of using Splenda consistently every morning in two or three cups of coffee, I began having symptoms. I was getting terrible migraines. I got them for two weeks straight and started to worry about it. In the process of trying to eliminate causes, I thought about the Splenda.
I then started getting terrible abdominal bloating and a "raw" feeling in my chest. I had felt some heart flutters, too. I was having heartburn and gas, and was just plain miserable!
For some reason, I decided to research Splenda and have discovered that all of this was caused by IT. I stopped taking Splenda four days ago. The headaches have subsided considerably. I didn't have any today. My stomach still feels messed up, but, hopefully, I am on the road to recovery. I definitely feel like I have been poisoned."
Thank you S.M. for sharing your story with our visitors. We hope that all who read it will take notice of the symptoms and dramatic recovery you experienced.
