On 11 June 2004, we received this note from K.H.concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"I don't use sweeteners very often and when I use a packet of Splenda on a bowl of cereal there is no apparent problem.
However I like ice cream and have started buying ones sweetened with Splenda instead of sugar. If I eat a very small portion no problem (however, this is very unlikely).
If I eat a large bowl of the Splenda ice cream I get very pronounced gas and if I pig out and have two bowls I will have terrible gas and diarrhea. Eating the same amount of regular ice cream has no such effect.
Do you have any information as to why it causes this reaction? I know it's the Splenda but I'm simply curious as to why it kicks my gastrointestinal tract's [bottom]."
Thank you K.H. for sharing your story with our visitors. |
