On 12 July 2004, we received this note from S.D. of Tujunga, CA, concerning their use of sucralose.

| "I am currently healing from a horrible mouth sore on the inside of my lip unlike anything I ever had before. I have had it for one week.
Two days ago, I narrowed down the cause to Splenda-sweetened drinks that I recently purchased. I had 1-2 daily. I have never had Splenda in that high amount before--and I never will again.
It seems to be healing now. It was almost unbearable for two days and a large irritation for the rest of the week.
