On 8 July 2004, we received this note from J. of Claremont, CA, concerning their use of sucralose.

| "I would like to share my experience with Splenda, as well, though it is not as extreme.
I have avoided non-natural sweeteners since I discovered through experimentation that Nutrasweet (aspartame) gives me migraines. However, one day the convenience store I frequent was out of regular bottled coffee drinks. I checked the lite bottle for Nutrasweet, saw none, and bought it.
After drinking about 1/5 of the bottle, I started to feel odd (light-headed) and noticed that everything in my office had taken on a rainbow aura. I didn't drink any more of the coffee. When I had lunch with my sister, less than an hour later, she commented that I was acting "strange."
I tried this again, just to see if Splenda was really the problem. It was.
Basically, Splenda made me high, and I won't be having any more of it.
Thank you. I also noticed that my reaction is not one that I've seen mentioned before."
Thank you J. for sharing your story with our visitors.
