On 5 August 2004, we received this note from M. of Murrieta, CA, concerning their use of sucralose.

"I am a 32-year old, healthy, physically fit female that seems to have a low tolerance for any artificial sweeteners. Yesterday, I purchased Breyer's Carb Smart mint chocolate chip ice cream. When I got home, I noticed that Splenda was in the ice cream. I had never encountered Splenda before.
I ate 5-6 spoonsful of ice cream at about 5:30 p.m. Nothing unusual happened until I awoke at 1:45 a.m. with what seemed to me to be an extremely bad anxiety attack with nothing provoking it. My mind was racing along with my heart rate. I couldn't relax or go back to sleep. My heart had some palpitations and my breathing was shallow and tight. I finally fell back to sleep about 3:45 a.m.
This morning I awoke restless and tired. I am staying away from ANY artificial sweeteners, no matter how NEW they are, from here on out. Now, I am hoping my body will detox the rest out of my system so that I can have a good night's sleep."
Thank you M. for sharing your story with our visitors.
