On 11 September 2004, we received this note from S.K. of San Diego, CA, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
| "I, too, have discovered a direct link between Splenda and my headaches. My husband regularly drinks C2 now instead of Coke, and I would drink one occasionally. It seemed my headaches correlated with drinking the C2, but I wasn't too sure.
They would last quite long and I couldn't imagine they were caused by something I ate so many hours ago. I went back to my diet drinks just in case since aspartame doesn't seem to affect me. I tested this idea by remaining sucralose-free to quite some time and then eating a small amount of a Splenda-containing product.
After a terrible headache lasting most of the weekend from a low-carb piece of chocolate containing only 1 gram of actual sugar and high amounts of Splenda, I am convinced that I must avoid this additive. It's too bad, because it tastes good and is popping p in many food and drink products.
If all the reduced-calorie products switch to Splenda, I am doomed!"
