On 18 October 2004, we received this note from S.W. of Virginia Beach, VA, concerning their use of sucralose.

"I have used splenda since I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 in July of this year and have had no side effects whatso ever.. I find it good tasting even in my oatmeal and use it in baking now for all my family and they have made no complaints as of yet. We even eat a chocolate candy now by Russell Stover made with it and enjoy it alot~! Helps take away my feeling of want for regular chocolate and frozen desserts and with 4 in my family and there again, have been no complaints. In fact they all enjoy the taste of the products and dont feel like they are losing out with no sugar foods.
I have however, eaten other foods with nutrasweet in it and have had terrible stomach cramps, gas and diarrhea from it. A friend of mine that ate candy with me at a mall had the same problems. All of these candies had nutrasweet so I continue to use splenda and am thankful for that alternative!
With each person being so uniquely different, its great that we all have these alternatives to try, learn about and enjoy or continue to try to find what it is that we can use safely and effectively.
