On 18 October 2004, we received this note from P.C. of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"I too had a horrible span in my life whilst using Splenda. It was difficult for me to diagnose it for some time because I had been using various types of sweeteners once I started my Atkins lifestyle.
I had been using Splenda for a number of months exclusively after a friend had done a quick search for the best sweeteners to use. Sometime later I began to experience horrible anxiety attacks and feelings of deep depression. My moods swings were erratic and I found myself crying for various reasons. My family suffered terribly due to this change and it wasn't until a co-worker came back with his own diagnosis from his doctor (he was told to get off of anything with Sucralose) that I finally looked into more information about Splenda.
I was frightened out of my wits! I immediately stopped taking the substitute and started to take an all natural sweetener called Stevia. It's a herb that is also very sweet and used in small quantity.
I can't tell you how much better everything is for me. It's like a heavy blanket has been taken off my head. I've been thinking clearer and my moods/depression swings have all but disappeared. I do not know if it does any permanent damage, I'm praying not. Stick to nature and the basics people! If the main media and TV is promoting it, stay away!!"
Thank you P.C. for sharing your story with our visitors.
