On 2 December 2004, we received this note from C.W.A. of Chester County, PA, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"While trying to lose weight, I switched from Sweet-n-Low to Splenda thinking, because it was made from sugar, it would be safe.
After using it for a while, I developed nighttime diarrhea. No cramps or pain, just sudden onset in the middle of the night. I was fine during the day and then, at night, I would have the same repetition. I stopped using Splenda and the problem went away.
Interestingly, my daughter works in the food world and one of her purveyors said they would not carry Splenda because it caused diarrhea. It does. Now that so many things are sweetened with sucralose I find myself reading labels constantly. "
Thank you C.W.A. for sharing your story with our visitors.
