"I started using Splenda maybe two or three weeks ago. I loved it. No read side effects--I thought.
I used to use Sweet-n-Low, but just decided I should change because I heard Splenda was healthier. I'm 43-years old and I've used Sweet-n-Low all my life without side effects.
On the third week of Splenda, I was driving home from work and had severe chest pain that almost forced me to pull over. Nothing like that ever bothered me before. I thought maybe it was a muscle spasm or indigestion.
The following day, I had to use the public restroom because of an overwhelming urgency to move my bowels (severe cramps). I thought this was strange since I go regularly every day at the same time my entire life.
For the next two days I stopped using Splenda because I ran out.
I bought more Splenda and used it in my morning coffee the next day. Again, I had to use the restroom with great urgency for the same reason. I am a hairdresser and I had to leave my customer at the sink and excuse myself. I also had nausea for no apparent reason at the same time in the morning.
I hadn't realized that there was a connection--that these symptoms were related--until I had run out of Splenda. Same symptoms at the same time every day after my morning coffee. I should mention that I used two packets in my morning coffee.
If I hadn't run out of Splenda, I wouldn't have realized what my symptoms were coming from. I put off buying it because of the price. Now, you couldn't pay me enough to use it again!"
