On 15 February 2005, we received this note from L.M. of Wakefield, MA, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"Several months ago, I took some small steps to cut down on the refined carbs in my diet. One of those steps was replacing the sugar in my daily cups of tea with Splenda.
For months now, I have had persistent headaches, the quality of which was unlike any I had ever experienced. They aren't especially painful, but localized to different parts of my head and often accompanied by dizziness or a spacey feeling. I have been worrying about them since their onset. My mood has been pretty consistently not that great--I thought I was suffering from the winter blahs, but now I am wondering if there is another cause.
Anyway, I just happened to research the ill effects of Splenda today and realized I may have an explanation for my headache problem. I have had two packets today and have a headache as I'm writing this--but I will definitely avoid this product (and NutraSweet, as well) in the future!"
Thank you L.M. for sharing your story with our visitors.
