On 28 January 2005, we received this note from K.S. in Oregon concerning their use of sucralose.

"I am 52-years young, and have the heart of a 25-year old, my cardiologist tells me. But, I have recently had three episodes of lone atrial fibrillation, rapid and very erratic heartbeat of up to 188 beats per minute. The term "lone" means that the cause is unknown. Two of the times, I had to go to the ER to get the atrial fibrillation stopped with electric shock and IV medication.
As I think back, each episode came after having consumed Splenda in a cup of coffee or tea, and each episode occured about one hour after ingestion of Splenda. I had been using Splenda for a few months before the episodes of A-fib began. I am certain that caffeine is NOT the culprit because I have been using decaf for a while.
I will never use Splenda again after reading the other horror stories from other people on your website."
Thank you K.S. for sharing your story with our visitors.
