On 16 April 2005, we received this note from R.M. of Benson, AZ, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"I spent yesterday in the emergency room because of severe chest pains where I gasped for breath and had headaches that caused blurred vision. I was sure I was having a heart attack! After several hours of tests, blood work, chest x-rays, etc., I was sent home with a recommendation to see a cardiologist.
Since I had nothing all day, I drank a Diet Rite cola last night. The chest pains started again. After visiting your website, I decided to cut out all Splenda and tell my doctor about the symptoms and my suspicions that Splenda may be the cause of my problems.
Why is there no warning when something this widely used is causing such distressing pain? I am diabetic and have cut out aspartame and other additives. Now Splenda joins the DO NOT USE list. Thanks for being here."
On 18 April 2005, we received an update from R.M.:
"Since being off Splenda and other additives, I feel somewhat better. Thanks."
Thank you R.M. for sharing your story with our visitors.
