Splenda - the sugar substitute you need to be wary about
On 9 April 2005, we received this note from S.P. concerning their use of sucralose.
"I have a positive story about the use of Splenda.

My experience with Splenda has been great! I've been truly happy with the results I've experienced and seen with using Splenda and will never go back to Sweet-n-Low or Equal--the aftertaste of those two sweeteners alone was enough for me to stop in the first place!

Splenda is made from sugar so it tastes more like sugar. Granted, with any sweetener, you do not want to consume excessive quantities because it will have a laxative effect on you, causing cramping, bloating, and diarrhea.  I think that is common sense: it says so right on the package!

Stories I've read of people using 3 to 4 packets in their coffee or eating major desserts like cheesecake, pies, cakes made with Splenda, it is no wonder they had such a horrible experience. That is way too much artificial sweetener for a body to consume in one day.

I have experienced no negative side effects using Splenda, but then I use it in moderation, which is key with any artificial sweetener, and I do not consume it daily; only when I am in the mood for yogurt or maybe some strawberries with a little sprinkled on top!

Splenda is truly a gem for me!"

Thank you S.P. for sharing your story with our visitors.
