On 4 November 2003, we received this note from K.G. of Encino, California, concerning her use of sucralose.
|
"A couple of months ago, I began consuming large amounts of Splenda. I sweetened everything with it. A month later, I found myself spinning into a dark depression. I thought it was circumstantial--PMS or financial problems. I have never felt this bad. I mean, I was worried and felt panic attack-like symptoms. I even had a glimpse of suicidal thoughts and that is soooooooooo not like me!It got to a point where I felt like was going to breadown and couldn't snap myself out of it. I considered seeing a doctor.
Last week, I ran out and brought products with regular sugar and, within a few days, my depression was gone. I no longer feel the panic attacks and am having fun again. I have read a few articles, but not many that relate to Splenda with depression. I am 100% certain that it was the Splenda. This was the only new thing I added to my diet and, when I took it away, my depression was gone."
Thank you K.G. for sharing your story with our visitors. We hope that all who read it will take note of the effect sucralose had on you.
