On 23 October 2003, we received this note from C.S. of Ventura, California, concerning her use of sucralose.
|
"I recently started a low-carb diet that recommended the use of Splenda as a substitute for sugar. I went along pretty well for a while, but then I started feeling "not myself". I became very irritated easily and then started having very bad bouts of depression. I had crying jags for no reason and, if something negative happened in my life, I had a very hard time recovering. Also, I noticed I was nervous and had heart palpitations. Since I have always been a happy person, I couldn't figure out what was wrong. The only thing that I could think of was the large amounts of artificial sweetener in my diet.
Imagine my surprise when I bypassed the glowing reports on Splenda on the Internet and came across yours! What I can see is that the side effects are very similar to those reported for aspartame.
Thank you so much for the wake up call."
Thank you C.S. for sharing your story with our visitors. We hope that all who read it will take note of the effect sucralose had on you.
