"I am on the Atkins diet for the second time in my life. The first time was five years ago before sucralose was available. At that time, the Atkins diet was very difficult for me to stick to, but I did it. I lost 30 pounds in six months.
This time, I only need to lose about 15 pounds and I was amazed to find how much carb-free food there is available! A lot of it has sucralose in it. It tastes wonderful and won't harm my diet! YAY! Or... not...
The first time I was on Atkins I was constipated. It just was. This time, I have diarrhea alternating with constipation. Very uncomfortable. I don't know that it is the result of sucralose, or something weird going on with my body, but I am cutting out sucralose to see what happens.

"When I stopped eating sucralose, the diarrhea stopped within a day. I am easing off of Atkins now and am feeling great! The first time I was on Atkins, I didn't understand that I needed to get my allowed carbs from vegetables that would also give me fiber. I was eating chocolate instead. Now I am off the chocolate and eating lots of spinach. All is well.
