On 23 March 2004, we received this note from M.B. of Chattanooga, TN, concerning her use of sucralose.

"I have been using Splenda for three or more years. My husband and I love it. He was a diabetic, so that's what really got me started on it. I have no real sugar in my house anymore. We only use Splenda.
I bake with it. I put it in our tea and other items that I fix. I have never had anyone say they could tell the difference in the food that I fix. I only get great compliments on my cooking. After telling them what I've used, they can't believe it. I have gotten several of our friends to start using it.
We have not had any side effects from using it, or, if we have, we didn't know it. My husband has lost weight, but not all due to Splenda. He is no longer a diabetic, and we can attribute part of that to using the Splenda and cutting out real sugar.
We are very pleased with Splenda and hope they do not discontinue it. As we all know, it doesn't matter what we eat or drink, there could always be potential side effects. I will continue to use Splenda as long as they have it on the market."
