On 3 April 2004, we received this note from N.S. concerning her use of sucralose.
|
"Three days ago, I decided to use Splenda for the first time after being informed about the dangers of aspartame and saccharin--the usual sweeteners that I use. I sprinkled a teaspoon of Splenda over my cereal in the morning and was surprised at how nice it tasted. But, halfway through eating, I felt dizzy and my eyes couldn't focus normally as if I were going cross-eyed all the time.
I didn't put two-and-two together until the afternoon when I had a big mug of green tea with two teaspoons of Splenda. The same symptoms came over me straight away!
I went on the Internet to find out more about this product and found that I wasn't the only one having adverse reactions to Splenda. Even when I was looking through the different sites, I was finding it hard to focus on the screen and read the information. I gave up until today--three days later--when I came across this site.
I haven't used Splenda since then and have thrown it out! I have had a bloated stomach ever since and the dizziness is only just wearing off. I'm hoping that it will all be out of my system soon! I'm just sticking to normal sugar in my tea now--it's put me off artificial sweeteners forever!"
