"I would like for you to include fatigue and sleepiness under possible side effects on the Splenda page of your website.
I am 33 years old and run three miles in the morning 3-4 times a week. I eat an extremely healthy diet consisting mostly of veggies, fruit, and no refined products. Since the middle of last year, I have been consuming Splenda daily. It's in my Soy Slender soy milk that I purchase every morning. It's in my Sobe Lean fruit drinks that I consume almost every evening.
I have been struggling with fatigue and yawning throughout the day for the past several months. I had begun going to bed around 8:30 or 9:00 where I was once able to stay up until midnight. Running in the morning had become quite a chore when I once did it with ease. I was having difficulty concentrating on my job when at work. I won't even get started on the bloating and gas.
I decided to stop consuming sucralose prior to making a doctor's appointment. I really didn't think it would do anything, but just to be certain. After three days off sucralose, I feel so much better! I have more of a bounce in my step. My mind is not wandering all over the place. I'm not yawning all the time. The difference is night and day, and this is only three days off!
I feel completely mislead about the dangers of sucralose. It was recommended by Dr. Atkin's book as better than aspartame. I thought I was being healthy by consuming sucralose instead of aspartame, but aspartame never made me feel as horrible as sucralose has.
I also suffer from prostate problems and have been under treatment for the past five months. I am beginning to wonder if sucralose has anything to do with that.
Thank you for your site. I did a web search for "sucralose and fatigue" and stumbled upon your page. Your site has validated my suspicions."
