On 28 June 2004, we received this note from J.C. of Colts Neck, NJ, concerning their use of sucralose.
|
"I rarely buy ice cream in the market but did so this week. I noticed it was low fat & sweetened with splenda. I bought it & within an hour I had pains & abdominal bloating. My mother had a stronger reaction. I figured out it had to be this product. A few days go buy & now I drink a can of slim fast (low carb, something new). I instantly get bloating & gas pains. I read the label & there it is, splenda. I go out for ice cream that night, low carb & it has to have the splenda in it, because I am really not feeling well. Same problem with my stomach. This is the initial experiences with Splenda & I am through with this product! If it mentions low carb, I will bet Splenda is an ingredient in it!"
Thank you J.C. for sharing your story with our visitors.
On 29 June 2004, we received an update from J.C.:
"I was speaking with my girlfriend today and asked her if she had any problems after eatting that low carb ice cream and she said she had a lot of gas and bloating. I explained to her why and she's now through with anything that says low carb and contains Splenda."
