Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 11 June 2005, we received this note from P.M. of Silver Spring, MD, concerning their use of sucralose.
"A few weeks ago, my stomach started making rude noises a few hours after lunch each day. Very embarassing when you share at office at work!

I just noticed today that my favorite diet soda--Pepsi One--has switched to Splenda. I went online and found that others have had the same problem.  Case closed!

I'll be switching to Diet Coke from now on.  I'll also be complaining to Pepsi."

Thank you P.M. for sharing your story with our visitors.

Editor's Note: As we advised P.M., many products are switching from saccharin and aspartame to sucralose. Before opting for a replacement, be sure to read the label carefully. Check all package labels for both Splenda (the tradename product) and sucralose (the generic form) to ensure you aren't consuming Splenda unwittingly.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
