Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 8 June 2005, we received this note from M.A. concerning their use of sucralose.
"I definitely have negative side effects from Splenda, so much so that it runs through my body like food poisoning--migraine headaches, nausea, low-grade fever, severe intestinal pain, and diarrhea. The situation is debilitating and occurs within three hours when I ingest anything that contains Splenda.

It took six months to figure out what was causing the problem. The only downside: Splenda shows upon in all kinds of food products now and many don't show Splenda to warn me in advance!"

Thank you M.A. for sharing your story with our visitors.

Editor's Note: When attempting to avoid Splenda, it is important to read the labels of every food, drink, and over-the-counter medication.  Check for both Splenda (the tradename product) and sucralose (the generic form) before purchasing the product. Recently, we found sucralose in the Tylenol Meltaways we give our young children!

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
