Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 15 May 2005, we received this note from K.T. concerning their use of sucralose.
"Yesterday, in the late afternoon, I drank a soda with Splenda for the first time.  I often drink sodas with aspartame, but never with Splenda. This soda had the word Splenda written all over the can.

About two hours after finishing the soda, I kept saying I felt dizzy.  As the evening wore on, it got so bad that I vomited and had to sit up in bed without moving my head for hours. I did fall asleep with the hope that I would feel better by morning.

I do feel somewhat better, but fifteen hours later, I am still dizzy. I know it was the Splenda. There was nothing else I ingested and I did not have a fever or stomach ache (the only reason I vomited was the dizziness). I will never ingest it again. After checking many websites this morning, I am banning aspartame as well.

I am only thankful I wasn't in a situation with my kids where I could not have driven home. I will not allow my children to drink diet soda anymore.

Come on, FDA, let's look at peoples' health, not the money from sugar lobbyists involved for the government.  Thank you."

Thank you K.T. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
