| "Splenda is truly poison!!!
I first want to thank you for having this site available for people to discover what is causing the decline of their quality of life by using Splenda. I hope someone does society a favor and sues or shuts down the company that produces this toxic substance. What I can't believe is that the makers aren't in court as we speak! Am I a little upset? You bet your ass I am! And, like the hundreds of others out there complaining about it, I have good cause to be. As far as those people who don't have any reaction to it, well, everyone's dosage and body chemistry is different. But I believe if the dosage increases, even those who have no reaction to it will be affected. Here is my experience... Back in January, Pepsi Edge came out on the market. I looked at the ingredients and was pleased to see it had half the amount of sugar and no additives or chemicals... or so I thought. I would take one can to work every day. The amount of Splenda in the Pepsi is small because of the length of time it took (which was very gradual) to notice its negative effects. I would also usually just end up drinking half a can which I'm sure was another reason for the slow onset of the side effects. So, after a couple of months drinking Pepsi Edge, I started feeling fatigued, especially at the end of the day. I then decided that I didn't have enough energy to work out and found that when I did, my muscles would be sore longer than they should have been. This feeling grew more pronounced as time went by until, after another couple weeks passed and I was so tired that I thought I had a hormone deficiency. Having them tested, along with a complete physical, the results were that I was completely healthy. Then I started having flu-like symptoms mostly toward the end of the day. Then a month or so ago I started having a metallic-like taste. It was like I hadn't brushed my teeth in over a month. I started feeling depressed and bloated. The left part of my abdomen, at times, would be painful. I started wondering if I had a problem with my pancreas. Then, just a few weeks ago, the nausea started. Always on the weekend though. Of course, at the time, I couldn't figure out why. The reason that I was actually having withdrawal symptoms... can you believe it?! It got so bad that I felt like throwing up. Then, last Friday, I went back to the box of Pepsi Edge and found on the botom of one side of the box the Splenda logo. I was so angry when I saw this. I don't care what excuses they try to make (it's from natural sugar) to sell their product. All of it: aspartame, Olean, Splenda-- are chemicals. Needless to say, I've thrown it all out. I had the nausea-like withdrawals that lasted for three days. Now, I'm almost myself. So the following is a list of the side effects I got from this chemical: fatigue, sore abdomen, some diarrhea, loss of short-term memory, bloating, some heart palpitation, and nausea. Yes, the FDA is partly to blame for this and I hope there will be repurcussions that lead to their doorstep. Next time, I will be extra careful to look at the entire box and, when in doubt, I won't use it. Hope this helps." Thank you S.S. for sharing your story with our visitors. |

| If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities. . |
