Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 26 April 2005, we received this note from K.A. of Irvine, CA, concerning their use of sucralose.
"Not at all a big fan of sugar substitutes since I have two otherwise healthy friends who developed non-cancerous brian tumors and the only thing they had in common was a liter of Diet Coke a day sweetened with aspartame.

I decided to try Splenda when a heart surgeon friend of mine told me Splenda was nothing but sugar broken in two. It sounded safe enough and I started Splenda with my tea and in my soft drinks--Diet Rite.

Over the course of a month, I developed anxiety attacks and joint pain.  I went to see a doctor and was advised that I might be developing arthritis. He gave me Ibuprofen. For my anxiety, they recommended antidepressants, which I refused to take. I was referred to a psychiatrist who said he thought I was normal and couldn't figure out the anxiety.

It took me another month to realize that the only new thing in my life was Splenda. I stopped using it. In a week, my anxiety went away and after about two weeks, my joint pain stopped (without Ibuprofen). Neither have returned for six months now.

I was researchgint the Net to show my wife how harmful Splenda is and I found your website. Splenda and aspartame should be taken off the market."

Thank you K.A. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
