Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 20 June 2005, we received this note from A.V. concerning their use of sucralose.
"I've drank two products with Splenda, both diet soft drinks. I come from a family of diabetics, so I've drank diet soft drinks all of my life, and never had any problems. After drinking these, within 24-36 hours I've had cramps, gas and diarrhea. They cleared up a couple of days after I stopped drinking the products.

I'm a chemist, so I'm exposed to a lot of random chemicals and almost never experience a reaction. Also, I wasn't sure what was causing it, so I tried each of the regular drinks and one diet without Splenda with no problems.

I'm not suggesting that Splenda is unsafe in any way, but I seem to react badly to it. Like most foods, some people may be allergic or have reactions to it. If you don't, fine. If you do, don't eat it. "

Thank you A.V. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
