Another Splenda Story submitted by a visitor

On 20 June 2005, we received this note from T.H. of London, Ontario, Canada, concerning their use of sucralose.

"I am a diabetic and when I first noticed the sugarless protein bars on the market, I was ecstatic. Finally, an energy bar that would satisfy AND not raise my blood sugar! I had heard positive reports about sucralose, which was the sweetener used in the protein bars. After eating several, I started experiencing cramps, gas and diarrhea. Unfortunately, I did not connect the two. It was only after buying diet ice cream bars (sweetened with sucralose), and experiencing the worst diarrhea I've ever had, that I connected the two. It took three days for my bowels to recover. I have disposed of a half a box of $20 protein bars, a $5 box of diet ice cream bars, and a box of unused Splenda. Not for me, thank you very much. I'll do without." Thank you T.H. for sharing your story with our visitors.
