Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 20 June 2005, we received this note from T.H. of London, Ontario, Canada, concerning their use of sucralose.
"I am a diabetic and when I first noticed the sugarless protein bars on the market, I was ecstatic. Finally, an energy bar that would satisfy AND not raise my blood sugar! I had heard positive reports about sucralose, which was the sweetener used in the protein bars. After eating several, I started experiencing cramps, gas and diarrhea. Unfortunately, I did not connect the two.

It was only after buying diet ice cream bars (sweetened with sucralose), and experiencing the worst diarrhea I've ever had, that I connected the two. It took three days for my bowels to recover.

I have disposed of a half a box of $20 protein bars, a $5 box of diet ice cream bars, and a box of unused Splenda.

Not for me, thank you very much. I'll do without."

Thank you T.H. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
