Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 26 June 2005, we received this note from B. concerning their use of sucralose.
"Hi. I have short bowel syndrome and my doctors said I shouldn't have a lot of sugar (or really any). So, I turned to the diet items that contain NutraSweet and Splenda. Well, due to the short bowel syndrome, I have a lot of diarrhea and gas already which is aggravated by a lot of concentrated sugar items.

Well, let me tell you--things were really bad when I consumed any of the diet foods containing any of the sugar substitutes. Now, I use a product called stevia as a sweetener or small amounts of sugar. So, people suffering from IBS with diarrhea should really avoid any of these artificial sweeteners--in my opinion."

Thank you B. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
