Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 11 July 2005, we received this note from S.B. in Wisconsin concerning their use of sucralose.
"Just had to e-mail you that I agree with those of you who give Splenda a frown.

I am 43-years old, normal weight, live an active lifestyle, but after a year of pulsating pressure in my head, dizziness, and elevated blood pressure, I thought long and hard about what I was doing wrong, or what had changed.  The only thing I could come up with was that I'd added Splenda to my morning coffee, cutting out sugar in an effort to be healthier.

Through an internet search on "Splenda side effects," I found the foodanddiet.com website and started reading. While it appears that there are varying symptoms described in visitor e-mails, there were enough similar symptoms to my own on this website to convince me to cut Splenda from my diet as a test.

Within 48 hours of cutting Splenda from my morning coffee, the pulsating pressure in my head and the dizziness disappeared completely.  It has been 2-1/2 weeks without Splenda and my blood pressure is normal for the first time in over a year, when it had been at a dangerous level previously.

I would urge everyone to do the same test I did--cut Splenda out and see how much better you feel."

Thank you S.B. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
