Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 13 July 2005, we received this note from M.V. in Connecticut concerning their use of sucralose.
"I've had problems on and off for years with bad headaches--not migraines--but quite bad. I have never been one to diet, but I have always tried to drink diet soda rather than regular to save a few calories.

I recently started drinking a sucralose-sweetened water drink at work and developed a headache within minutes. Thinking it was a regular stress headache (although I wasn't stressed), I took two headache pills and finished the water. My headache was gone in about 20 minutes.

Great! The pills worked. Right?

Later that evening, I started drinking another one of the waters and developed a headache within two minutes. I realized it could be the water, so I stopped drinking it immediately. My headache went away within five minutes.

Coincidence? I think not! I have decided to stop all artificial sweeteners and see if I feel better in general.  Wish me luck!"

Thank you M.V. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
