Another Splenda Story submitted by a visitor

On 17 August 2005, we received this note from G.D. concerning their use of sucralose.

"I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and have been compulsively eliminating gluten from my diet. I was wondering why some of the things I was eating continued to bother me, and I am thankful that I found your site while looking into aspartame and saccharin. The first ingredient on Splenda is dextrose. Dextrose is made from wheat, therefore a big no-no for celiacs. I had no idea that a sweetener would have dextrose in it!!! That may be why Splenda is causing symptoms. Your list of symptoms looks like a text book list of symptoms for celiacs. This begs the question, is it the sucralose, or is it Splenda? Thanks." Thank you G.D. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities. .
