Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 2 January 2006, we received this note from M.J. concerning their use of sucralose.
"I started Weight Watchers in March 2005.  I was doing the flex program, and was just counting points at the time. I am sure there were some products I was using that contained Splenda, but not as much as when I switched over to the core plan in October 2005.

In the middle of November, I started not feeling very well. I started to have terrible indigestion that no medicine would cure. Some days were worse than others, but when it was bad it was really bad. I could hardly walk it hurt so bad. Swallowing food was painful. I couldn't sleep through the night because the acid in my stomach kept coming up the back of my throat. I was getting very depressed and didn't know how much longer I could exist like this. My eyes were blurry along with ocular migraines.

Finally, I said to myself, it has to be some sort of outside source doing this to me because the strongest of drugs wasn't working. I did some research on the internet and, bingo! I knew right away.

It has been five days since I last consumed Splenda and I feel so much better. My stomach is almost 100% better. My headaches are gone. My eyes are pretty much back to normal.

Never again will I use any type of artificial sweetener.  This experience has definitely traumatized me."

Thank you M.J. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
