Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 4 April 2006, we received this note from R.S. of Windsor, Ontario, Canada concerning their use of sucralose.
"It was so nice to discover Splenda. It really had a natural taste and no aftertaste to it. At first, I was only using the packets--not even one a day. I tried the Atkins bars that were sweetened with Splenda. If I ate more than one, I noticed that I walked around passing gas for the rest of the day, so I started avoiding them.

Then, I tried Arizona diet green tea sweetened with Splenda.  I would guess I ws drinking 16-20 ounces a day for about a week. I really liked the taste. But, all of a sudden, I had to rush to the bathroom and it was like jet propulsion (liquid only) from the rear end. This happened twice.

I stopped drinking the tea and waited about a week.  I tried it again.  After only one glass full, I was back in the bathroom. So, no more Arizona diet tea with Splenda for me. I got rid of all the sweetener I had.

I sincerely hope that all diet products don't switch to Splenda as a sweetener. I have not had any problems since I stopped using Splenda."

Thank you R.S. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
