Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 22 March 2006, we received this note from J.R.H. concerning their use of sucralose.
"I changed from regular soda to a no-calorie Splenda soft drink about six months ago. Ironically, around the same time, I had increased IBS attacks, bloating, constipation, loss of concentration, major mood swings, headaches, extreme fatigue, and more.

About four months ago, my IBS attacks started to increase to 4-5 times a week, lasting up to three hours at a time. These attacks are not mild to say the least.

To make matters worse, about four weeks ago, the IBS attacks still occured lasting hours at a time, but no bowel movement would follow. My gastro doctor was completely baffled at my declining health. I am a healthy, thin 37-year old woman. A recent ultrasound proved a fatty liver had developed.  For other reasons when I had an ultrasound done a year ago, it was normal. Ironic? I think not!

Are there any pending lawsuits against these manufacturers? If not, why?! There are absolutely no warning labels on the soft drink I consumed.  I must add, as a child during a serious illness, I contracted hepatitis.  If for no other reason, warning labels should be law to warn potential patients with hepatitis of the seriousness of liver side-effects."

Thank you J.R.H. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
