| Another Splenda Story submitted by a visitor |

| On 11 March 2006, we received this note from J.W. concerning their use of sucralose. |

| "I'm a 26-year old woman in good health. I went on a low-carb diet to try to lose some of the weight I gained during pregnancy.
I was on the diet for about six weeks, eating a decent amount of carbs, and I began to have heart palpitations which I never had before. It scared me so badly one evening I went to the E.R. The test results showed some kind of thyroid disorder. My doctor said I was in good health otherwise, so they wanted to retest me in a month thinking it might be a virus or something. I finally made the connection on my own. These heart palpitations kept happening at night, right after consuming sugar-free Jello sweetened with Splenda. I had never consumed sucralose before beginning this low-carb diet. Coincidence? I don't think so. I feel much better now that I'm off the Splenda, although I do notice the palpitations now when consuming caffeine." Thank you J.W. for sharing your story with our visitors. |
