Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 22 April 2006, we received this note from B. concerning their use of sucralose.
"We used Splenda in our coffee and tea, as well as ingesting nutritional bars on a trip to England. When we experienced abdominal problems (gas), we investigated what we had been consuming. We discontinued using Splenda and found that the gas disappeared.

We had heard that the chemical reaction in the digestive system after consuming Splenda is a common occurence because of the processing of Splenda. ...

We switched to stevia or just powdered milk in our coffee and tea. We avoid white sugar altogether. We choose fresh fruit instead."

Thank you B. for sharing your story with our visitors.

Note: This visitor's note also included information about the FDA approval process and a demand to know why our own government approves things for use for the general public, while warning pregnant or nursing mothers to avoid those same products. We elected to omit the comments for brevity and clarity. We apologize to the writer, but encourage all visitors to contact the FDA directly using the link on the main Splenda page. Thank you!

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
