| On 26 April 2006, we received this note from S.R. concerning their use of sucralose. |

| "I have been ingesting Splenda in prepared foods for quite some time without side effects.
Two days ago, I decided to limit my calorie intake and I purchased some cookies and ice cream sweetened with Splenda. This would replace my regular cookies and ice cream. Last night, I had a bowl of ice cream with the Splenda sweetener. Earlier in the day, I had some cookies after my lunch. About 1:00 a.m., I woke up with chest pain and pounding in my ears. I was worried about a heart attack for about two hours. After a couple of hours, it seemed to have "moved" down to my stomach, which had a "tightening" feeling. After about 30 minutes, it turned into abdominal cramping. I was completely back to normal by 5:00 a.m. So, my theory on Splenda is that it may not cause any side effects with occasional use, but used as your sole sweetener, you may feel you're having a heart attack. Pretty scary for a 56-year old in the middle of the night! I promptly looked it up on the Internet when I got up and found it to be a common reaction to Splenda. It may be common, but is it safe? I hope this helps someone else from the scare." Thank you S.R. for sharing your story with our visitors. |

| If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities. . |
