| On 1 May 2006, we received this note from B.F. of Dallas, Texas, concerning their use of sucralose. |

| "Three years ago, I got hooked into the craze of using Splenda. I believe this is when the product first came out. I bought all the diet products that had Splenda in it--ice cream, soda, etc.
One night, I decided to have some espresso with Splenda. As I was drinking my coffee, I started to feel very hot in the face. I thought it was from the hot coffee. My husband then said to me, "who scratched your face?" I said nobody had and asked him why he was asking. He told me my face was red and had welts on it. I ran to the bathroom mirror and saw my face was red and swollen with welts across my cheeks. My fingers and arms were swollen, as well. At first, I had no idea what this could be. I called my pharmacy and was told to take some benedryl as I was having an allergic reaction to something I had eaten or touched. I then told the pharmacists I had a coffee with Splenda. He said it was probably the Splenda. I have since stopped using Splenda. It took quite a few hours for the redness and swelling to go away. It was a most frightening experience." Thank you B.F. for sharing your story with our visitors. |

| If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities. . |
